An answer to my VB.H question
As it turns out—after finishing the scan on my computer and checking the infected file—I got it from Internet Explorer. The file was XTRAY~1.exe and was stored in my temporary internet files folder. Okay, I feel better now. I could have avoided the problem by setting up a third party firewall like ZoneAlarm.
Bottom line is, it got to me through IE. It's either some idiot used my computer, or it was just really sneaky and my defenses weren't up—understandably.
